We all know what we should be doing to improve our health, family environment or our work situation but knowing what we should do and doing those things are two very separate things.

The reason why we cannot fully commit is two-fold:

  1. The things are not important enough for us
  2. We feel overwhelmed by the task ahead

Part 1: Finding your why

I know it’s cliche but it’s an essential step on your journey towards the person and the trader that you want to become.

Famous psychologist and psychotherapist Dr. Jordan Peterson offers a powerful, little program called Future Authoring where he helps you with targeted questions to find your why, get you motivated and get going on your goals.

We really recommend that you spend an afternoon going through the course if you are interested in uncovering your full potential.

2. Your Action Plan

Most people don’t achieve their full potential because they don’t know where to start or are overwhelmed by the task ahead.

If your only goal is to become a profitable trader and the only thing you focus on is making money, it can indeed be demotivating and frustrating.

You have to break down your overall goal into achievable sub-goals. Look for smaller tasks that you can easily integrate into your daily or weekly schedule.

You have to build momentum and just get going with those little steps and over time, you will feel the benefits and look for new and other ways to improve yourself and work towards your overall goal.

And do not forget to reward yourself along the way as I explain in the video. Keeping trading fun and something that you look for is very important.
